Daechi-dong < Seoul | AZABU (Tai-yaki cafe)

Do you know Tai-yaki? It is traditionally called 'Do-mi bread' in Japan.

It looks and tastes similar to 'Bung-eo bread' seen in winter in South Korea. :)

After shopping at COEX, we visited there because my wife wished to go.

The staff was baking Tai-yaki when we entered the store. Isn't red bean filling really thick?

There are various types of Tai-yaki. AZABU bing-soo with Tai-yaki strongly appeals to me.

AZABU 'Do-mi bread' is made on-site and served in a warm state after order. How fresh it is!

It takes about 7 mins. I can stand this to eat yummy Tai-yaki.

The opening hours. They work until 02:00 a.m., however, you can't use the basement after midnight.

There are many people waiting for ordering Tai-yaki, proving its popularity.

These are mugs printed AZABU's logo. I want to have one..

You can see the big logo in front of the stairs to the basement.

Isn't it cute? Lights on the shape of snapper is blinking.

The enterance of the toilet is located right beside the stairs.

There is also the title of AZABU.

It seems to try to catch customer's eye with their brand.

A snapper on the alarm~

Waiting before Tai-yaki was served, my wife brought the books from the shelves.

A lot of books~ She seems to wish to go everywhere in the world..

This is the menu we ordered. We odered 3 pieces of Tai-yaki and 'Ice Monaka', a newly launched menu.

Malcha&red bean taste.

Malcha is traditional Japanese tea, kind of grean tea powder.

The flavour of ice cream in 'Ice Monaka' is sweeter than typical grean tea ice cream.

It tastes better with red bean and a piece of Tai-yaki.

Still fresh in my mouth was slightly bitter taste of green tea and sweet taste of red bean.

Tai-yaki I odered with.

All red bean fillings in AZABU Tai-yaki are made keeping old-fashioned methods.

Therefore, I never get tired of the flavour even though it is sweet.

There is a smoking room for smokers.

VIP room in the basement. There are bookshelves on one side of the wall-where my wife brought the travel books. You can see AZABU here, too.

The cushions have a AZABU logo again..

You can choose whatever you want to read in bookshelves.

It looks like they designed with elaborate care in each decoration.

Against the bookshelves, the mirror reflected me.

An explanation of 'Ice Monaka' in Korean.

How was it?

Originally, AZABU was a underground shop in Shinsegae department store.

Starting from the Daechi-dong main shop, they are jumping into a franchise business and increasing chain stores in Seoul now.

If you feel like having warm bread, then how about enjoying at cafe AZABU with fresh Tai-yaki?
